Since my attempts to invigorate the summer group blog have done little good, i've decided to return back to this blog for all my posting needs.
I'm still in Davidson for the summer and somehow maintaining something of a healthy state of mind. This place can be incredible dull, uninspiring, and, well, lonely in the summer.
I'm spending a majority of my time working at Starbucks (I still can't really believe im a Starbucks employee) and finishing up some research assistance work with Dr. Menkhaus over at the college. In between the laborious frappucino making and uneventful hours at a desk in Chambers, I have been devoting too much of my time to poker and not enough to reading, playing music, and working out. We'll see if things get better.
I'm off to Austin, Texas for a four-day much-needed and long-awaited vacation. As in last year's blog, I'll report back on the awesomeness of the trip upon my return.
Before I leave, I came across some curious stuff on the internet today regarding Saddam Hussein's capture. Maybe i'm just out of the loop, but I had yet to hear of this palm tree controversy over whether Saddam's capture really took place when it was said to. Most likely a conspiracy theory, but still a bit alarming. If you google the controversy, you'll find tons more.
